Candle Takeover!

Step 1: Take something ordinary and plain in your home
(I used this here green candle)

Step 2: Find something to dress it up: ribbons, fabrics, paper, brads
(I used brads)

Steps 3: CRAFT!!
I simply pushed the small green and yellow brads into the candle
(only onto the part of the candle that would show)

Step 4: Replace that object back in its place! Easy enough right? It adds a bit of color, dimension and texture!!

*Tip of the POST*
Anything ordinary can be turned into something extraordinary-
Even you!!!

Super cute and Easy Hair Bows

I found this tutorial for these hair clips on this wonderful blog and decided to try it out! Ever since I knew i was expecting a girl I have been the Hair bow making Queen! So when this new idea came along i decided to give it a try! The two on the ends were made out of some ribbon that I got from a present for Maia and they were a bit harder to make a flower but just ruffled altogether turned out so cute! Oh and instead of the glass beads and paper- i just sewed on buttons cause that's all I had!
Well it turned out great and I just can't wait to get some more fabric to make one for every outfit that Maia has!(and maybe just a few for me too!) These clip right on shirts and hair for me so they surely won't go to waste!! Or even gluing it to a black headband for me might be fun too!

I love the full look and bows can never be too big, right?

Let me tell you- she is a perfect model!(especially when she sleeps and has no say in the matter)

**Tip of The Post***
Save Ribbon from presents and packages- I use them again for gifts or crafts!

A place to call my own!

After looking at blog after blog to find fun crafts and cute ideas- i decided to document all of the challenges I take on! I am not much of an expert in this area- there are far more creative and capable people than me- and so I am putting my skills to the test and we will see where my adventures take me!
Oh- and since this is crafting a budget- I will pick the most frugal crafts I can find! Crafting that is cost effective is the best kind- right? oh I'm getting excited just thinking about it!!
Budget tip of the week:
Don't Buy a journal- Start a Blog!!!
